Open Labs & Student Resources
The CS Department provides several open lab spaces and resource centers for students to work on assignments, projects, research, and receive academic support.
Problem Solving Lab (PS Lab) - Dragas Hall Room 1103G
This lab is an open facility free to use by CS students for coursework and practice.
- Capacity: 39 machines (26 single-monitor workstations, 13 dual-monitor workstations)
- Specifications: Intel Core i7 processors, 16GB RAM
- Monitors: 27-inch Dell monitors
Open Research Lab (OR Lab) - ECS Room 3104
This lab is typically used by students to work on assignments, projects, and research. Classes may also be held in this room.

- Specifications: Intel Core i7 processors, 16GB RAM
- Monitors: 27-inch Dell monitors
Tutoring Center (CSURC) - Dragas Hall Room 1115
The CS Undergraduate Resource Center (CSURC) serves as a tutoring lab for CS students.
- Services: Tutoring for Math and CS courses, assistance for the CS exit exam.
- Capacity: 9 machines
- Specifications: 11th generation Intel Core i7 CPUs, 16GB RAM, NVMe storage
- Monitors: 27-inch Dell monitors

CSURC (DGS 1115) hours may vary based on tutoring schedules. Please check with the department or posted schedules for specific CSURC availability.
Lab Hours and Proxy Card Access
The Problem Solving Lab (DGS 1103G) and Open Research Lab (ECS 3104) are open for student use with a valid CS account.
After-hours and weekend access to these labs is available to all students currently enrolled in a CS course. You may request access by sending an email to root@cs.odu.edu
with your UIN.
