Calling Features
Placing a Call on Hold
While in an active call, press the 'Hold' button to place the call on hold. With a call on hold, you can make further calls. Typically, most phones can place 2 calls on hold at once, but some models support up to 6.
Parking a Call (for others to pick up)
If you wish to place a call on hold and allow someone else to continue the call, this is called 'parking' a call.
- While in an active call, press the menu key "Park Call".
- To pick a parked call back up, press the menu key "Parked Calls". This will allow you to browse through currently parked calls and select one to continue.
Transferring a Call
- Press the "Transfer Call" button (bottom right). This will place the caller on hold temporarily.
- With them on hold, dial the number you want them transferred to.
- Upon calling that number, you will be released, and they will be transferred.
Redialing Last Number
If you wish to redial, press the "Re-dial" key on the bottom right. This will dial the last person called on the phone.
Call Pickup (if configured)
If your phone is configured to support call pickups, you will see a line key that says "Call Pickup". This means that you can pick up any of the lines you see on the phone screen when they are ringing. To do this, press the contact key next to the line that says "Call Pickup" while another phone (that you are configured to pick up) is ringing. You will then answer the call as if it had rung your line.
Miscellaneous Phone Functions
Speakerphone
You can use the Speakerphone key to answer calls or switch active calls to speakerphone mode.
Muting a Call
Press the Mute key to mute your handset or speakerphone. The caller will not be able to hear anything until you unmute.
Volume Control
Use the "+" and "-" keys to adjust the volume of the ringer, handset, or speaker.
Context Keys
Context keys are keys whose functions change depending on what is displayed on the LCD screen.
Understanding Line Keys
Line keys are displayed to the right of the screen, with a first name, an extension, and a status symbol shown next to them on the LCD.
- Primary Line: Typically, there will be only one primary line key active at a time.
- Speed Dial/Monitoring: Additional line keys often act as speed dial keys. You can hit the button next to the line to call it.
- Status Indicators: These keys also act as "monitors" for the lines, allowing you to see when one is ringing, when someone is on a call, or when someone is busy.
Menu Keys
The menu keys have many different functions. Here are the functions available from the main screen:
Call Log
Displays the history of calls made to and from this phone.
Contacts
Displays an up-to-date directory with all the extensions available in the CS department. From here you can dial, or directly leave a voicemail, for any extension listed.
Status
Allows you to set a status for your phone (e.g., "Available," "Busy," "Out of Office").
Info
This key lets you get more information about lines on your phone. Press this key and then a line key to see more details about that line.
Parked Calls
Lets you see the parking lots for calls. From here you can pick up calls that are in a lot you are subscribed to.
Forward
Here you can configure a phone number to forward calls to instead of ringing your phone. You can set conditions for a forward, such as forwarding on no answer, or forwarding on busy. You should enter a phone number as you would dial it normally on the handset.
Forwarding Example
To forward calls to (931) 581-2579
, you would enter: 99315812579
Menu
Accesses the main settings menu of the phone.
More
Moves to the next page of menu items if more are available than can be displayed on one screen.

You can access your voicemail using the key with the envelope icon (often labeled "Messages") in the bottom right. This displays a menu on the LCD where you can manage your voicemail inbox.
