Computing Labs

The ODU CS Department maintains five computing labs: Teaching Labs, Lab, Problem Solving Lab (PS Lab), Tutoring Lab (CSURC), and Open Research Lab (OR Lab). The Teaching Labs are used by CS professors for various classes. The PS Lab and OR Lab are both open to CS students, providing them with computers they can use, and the Tutoring Lab offers free tutoring for CS students.


Teaching Lab - Dragas Hall room 2112

Our Teaching Lab hosts classes for CS 151, 153, 251 as well as various 100/200 level CS courses. It consists of 37 machines each with 11th generation i7 CPU, 16GB ram and NVMe storage. Each machine has a 24 inch Lenovo monitor.

Teaching Lab - Dragas Hall room 2114

Our Teaching Lab consists of 39 machines each with Intel Core 11th generation i7 CPUs, 16GB of RAM, and NVMe storage. Each machine has a 24 inch Dell monitor.

PS Lab - Dragas Hall room 1103G

Problem Solving lab consists of 39 machines each with with Intel i7 processors. 16 GB of RAM. This is an open lab free to use by CS students. 26 single monitor workstations and 13 dual-monitor workstations.

Tutoring Center (CSURC) - Dragas Hall room 1115

Our Tutoring Center consists of 9 machines each with Intel Core 11th generation i7 CPUs, 16GB of RAM, and NVMe storage. Each machine has a 24 inch Dell monitor. This is room is used as a tutoring lab for CS students. The Tutoring Center offers tutoring for Math and CS courses and tutoring for the CS exit exam. This room is also known as the CS Undergraduate Resource Center (CSURC).

OR Lab - E&CS room 3104

Open Research Lab consists of 27 machines each with Intel i7 processors and 16 GB of RAM. It is usually used by students to work on assignments, projects, and research. Each machine has 24 inch Lenovo monitor.

Open Lab Hours and Proxy Cards

The PS Lab and OR Lab are both open for student use with a valid CS account.

After hours/ weekend access to the Problem Solving Lab and Open Research Lab is available to all students currently enrolled in a CS course. You may request access by sending an email to root@cs.odu.edu with your UIN.

Conference Room

The conference room in ECS 3316 can be scheduled for use with the front office staff. Instructions for the conference system in the room are available HERE
